AKAYLOSE is marketed in white to cream colored powder. It is tasteless odourless, readily soluble in water by dissolves faster in hot water forming almost colorless, transparent, viscous, polyelectrolyte liquid. It has the following functions and properties.

  • It acts as a thicker, binder, stabilizer, protective colloid, suspending agent and rheology or flow control agent.
  • It forms films that are resistant to oils, greases and organic solvents.
  • It dissolves rapidly in cold or hot water.
  • It is physiologically inert.
  • It also has low Bio-Chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD)

These properties and functions makes AKAYLOSE suitable for use in a wide range of applications in Soaps & Detergents, paints, paper products, insecticides, textile-sizing, printing and finishing, adhesives, oil well drilling, ceramics, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, foodstuff, foundry, leather, welding electrodes, lamination, beverages, rubber, fertilizer, latex coating, plastics, glass explosives and other allied industries.

  • INSECTICIDES – AKAYLOSE TH

    • Akaylose is used in pesticides powder to increase their suspendibility in water and produce an even dispersion of the active ingredients.
    • Adhesive property of Akaylose improves its adhesive nature when spread on plantation thus reduces undue drift of pesticides.
    • Akaylose is colorless, odorless, tasteless giving almost colorless viscous solution.
    • It also has low Bio-Chemical Oxygen Demand (BOD).

  • PAPER AND PAPER BOARD – AKAYLOSE PL,PH, PPL

    • Akaylose is used as a beater additive that gives denser surface to the paper used for printing.
    • In paper, it exhibits improved erasive and writing property, better binding strength, increased hardness, improved sizing smoothness and gloss.
    • It also improves mechanical strength such as breaking, bursting, folding strength of the paper due to improved fibr e adhesion, surface strength, less fluffing and covers the pores.

    • Akaylose is used in leather finishes to give a soft handle because of the excellent film forming property.
    • It is also used in paste drying of leather and sealing coat.

  • FOUNDRY – AKAYLOSE TH & PH

    • Akaylose is used by foundry industries as ideal core binder because it gives optimum strength , hardness, better extrusion, easy to handle , fills the mud rapidly does not stick to its surface.
    • During casting Akaylose in the core is completely burnt out leaving very little ash hence the core sand can be roused. Another important advantage of Akaylose is a core binder, after casting the cores are generally so brittle that tapping the goods is sufficient to make the cores disintegrate and pour through the holes left in the goods.

  • EXPLOSIVE – AKAYLOSE PH

    • Akaylose swells and forms a stiff gel if it comes into contact with water hence the explosive property is maintained in ammonium nitrate oil explosive.
    • It also helps in maintaining uniform dispersion of oil and consistency regulation.
