Papermaking Grade CMC


CMC shows outstanding performance in papermaking. It's highly prized by paper engineers and widely used in paper and paperboard production. Applications include coating processes, acting as a coating rheology modifier, water - retention agent, film - forming agent, auxiliary adhesive, wet - end retention enhancer, surface sizing agent, grinding aid, filler modifier, and wastewater treatment flocculant. We offer various papermaking - grade CMCs to meet diverse customer needs.

Our papermaking - grade CMC excels in adhesion, thickening, emulsification, suspension, flocculation, film - forming, colloid protection, moisture retention, and chemical stability, with a strong affinity for pulp fibers. The hydrophilic carboxymethyl groups in its molecular structure swell cellulose, enhancing its affinity with pulp fibers and filler particles, thus boosting paper toughness and strength. It also makes negatively - charged pulp and filler repel each other, ensuring better fiber and filler distribution for improved paper uniformity. Used as a surface sizing agent, it enhances paper strength and smoothness. It disperses pigments for better printing, controls paint rheology to increase water retention, and, as a fluorescent whitening agent carrier, outperforms starch and polyethylene glycol in whitening and hue improvement. It's a multi - functional paper additive.

Applications in Surface Sizing

1. Has good rheological and film-forming properties;

2. Reduce the paper surface pores and improve the oil resistance of the paper;

3. Increase the brightness and gloss of the paper;

4. Increase the stiffness of the paper, smoothness, control curl;

5. Improve the surface strength and abrasion resistance of the paper, reduce the lint and powder, and improve the printing quality.

 

Applications in Pigment Coating

1. Control and adjust the rheology of the coating and the dispersion of the pigment, and improve the solid content of the coating;

2. Make the coating have pseudoplasticity and improve the coating speed;

3. Enhance the water retention of the coating and prevent the migration of the water-soluble adhesive;

4. Has a good film-forming, improve coating gloss;

5. Improve the retention rate of brighteners in coatings and improve the whiteness of paper;

6. Improve the lubrication performance of the coating, improve the quality of the coating, and extend the service life of the scraper.

 

Applications in the Addition of Pulp

1. Improve refining efficiency, promote fiber refinement and shorten beating time;

2. Adjust the internal potential of the pulp, evenly disperse the fibers, improve the "papermaking performance" of the paper machine, and further improve the paper sheet forming;

3. Improve the retention rate of various additives, fillers and fine fibers;

4. Increase the binding force between fibers and improve the physical properties of paper;

5. Combined with dry and wet strength agent, it can improve the dry and wet strength of the paper;

6. Protect the internal sizing agent such as rosin and AKD to enhance the sizing effect.
